The Richard King Mellon Foundation has announced the winners of its first-ever Social-Impact Investment Pitch Competition – a novel effort to identify and support for-profit companies with a public purpose that aligns with the Foundation’s Strategic Plan. Three companies won the top prizes, totaling more than $1 million. And the Foundation also is investing in 13 finalist companies. All told, the Foundation is investing $3.39 million in 16 companies with promising business ideas to make our communities stronger.
