Program Officer, Richard King Mellon Foundation
Curan is a Program Officer at the Richard King Mellon Foundation (RKMF) and is responsible for managing a portfolio of grants and program related investments which seek to ensure the protection, preservation and restoration of America's environmental heritage. He has over 20 years of experience working on conservation projects on the ground in over 20 countries. He is a published author with expertise in conservation finance, land management, and impact evaluation.
Prior to joining RKMF he directed a portfolio of debt and quasi-equity investments through Conservation International’s various impact investing initiatives. He also previously held positions working for several research and development organizations including Cornell Cooperative Extension, Bioversity International, the US Fulbright Program, and the United States Forest Service.
Curan has a BS in Natural Resources from Cornell University and an MS in Forestry from the University of Montana.
